I finally got a chance to visit @arestingplace.sea

I finally got a chance to visit @arestingplace.sea thanks to @sahasahas. This community space for grief was truly an emotional experience and I need to go back when there isn't an activity going on and I can spend some quiet time there.Community spaces like this give us a place to feel and heal. American culture is so hyper individualistic and sees grieving as something we do in private. But I know that when we are able to have spaces like these, we feel so much less alone.Consider donating to their gofundme on the link in bio @arestingplace.sea.The last pic made me want to cry. I'm so excited to share that @thefishbowlseattle artist @carloskhaliart was featured in ArcadeNW's latest issue! The feature includes his art "We Still Can't Breathe," which exhibited in February in the "From the Margins" show I curated, on the cover. There is an interview and portrait by me.I am so tremendously grateful to the editor Leah at @arcadenw who has been a fierce advocate for what we do at The Fishbowl and is letting us workshop a potential print publication we are currently working on to feature the art and artists who show at our gallery. I love the quote that they chose! Yes, we are the 6th Whitest city in American, down from 5th place a few years back.I am excited to go out with @solecito_art next to do her environmental portrait and to share her important story about farmworker rights.#artistcommunities #bipocartists #socialjusticeart #communitycentered #seattleartists
